The Still and West Country House is a pub in Old Portsmouth, on the southern border of Portsea, occupying a prime position at Bath Square overlooking the harbour mouth. The pub takes its name from the Still and West distillery that once operated on this site. Its terrace and windows offer exceptional views of the harbour entrance, with ships, ferries and naval vessels passing at close range. The pub has been a landmark at this location for centuries and is one of the most photographed and visited pubs in Portsmouth. While technically in Old Portsmouth rather than Portsea proper, it is within easy walking distance of the dockyard and Gunwharf Quays and is an essential part of any exploration of the wider area.
