Millennium Promenade

The Millennium Promenade is a waterfront walkway that runs along the harbour edge through Gunwharf Quays and connects to the broader network of harbour-side paths. The promenade was created as part of the millennium regeneration projects and provides a pleasant pedestrian route with views across Portsmouth Harbour to Gosport, the harbour entrance and the naval base. Benches, interpretation panels and public art are placed along the route. The promenade is popular with walkers, joggers and those simply enjoying the harbour views. It connects the Gunwharf Quays area to The Hard and provides a traffic-free route along the waterfront. On calm days the views across the harbour, with its mixture of naval vessels, ferries and pleasure craft, are particularly attractive.
